The 10th International Colloquium on Bioethics, Neuroethics and Ethics of AI is consolidating itself as an interdisciplinary and international academic space dedicated to the critical analysis of the ethical, legal, political and social implications of emerging technologies.

Central Theme 2026

"Digital Governance & Intelligence Control in Democracy"


The tenth edition emphasizes the related regulatory and institutional challenges:

  • Digital Governance

  • Democratic Regulation of Artificial Intelligence

  • Control and Supervision of Intelligent Systems

  • Technological Sustainability

  • Interface between AI, Health, Neuroscience and Public Policy


The goal is to promote a qualified public forum to discuss the systemic impacts of AI on contemporary democracies.


Institutional Objectives

The Colloquium aims to:

  • To contribute to the consolidation of research in AI Ethics in Brazil.

  • To foster responsible and democratic regulatory frameworks.

  • Integrating academia, the public sector, startups, businesses, and civil society.

  • Strengthening international cooperation in technology governance


Historical Continuity and Legacy

The event continues more than two decades of teaching, research, and outreach at the interface between bioethics and technology.


In previous editions:

  • Pioneering contributions to Bioethics in Brazil were honored, especially in the fields of Moral Philosophy and Medical Ethics.

  • The normative and systemic challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic were debated, articulating bioethics, neuroethics, and AI in the face of global crises.


The tenth edition delves deeper into this journey by shifting the focus to democratic governance, institutional control, and the sustainability of artificial intelligence.


The collaboration with the AIRES-PUCRS Chapter reinforces student leadership and the development of leaders in technological ethics.


Synthesis

The 10th Colloquium is consolidating itself as a strategic space for interdisciplinary and international reflection on bioethics, neuroethics, and AI governance, promoting an ethical agenda committed to democracy, sustainability, and social inclusion.
